SOWEGA 2015
« on: December 19, 2014, 10:02:38 AM »
Hey guys, it's time to start planning for the SOWEGA ride. Not sure of the exact date yet, I'm working with Brian to figure that out. Everyone needs to get their trucks ready. Lets all work together and help anyone who needs it. ;)

OK guys, we have set a date. Saturday February 7 2015. We will probably meet at the Bradfordville Publix parking lot and ride up together. I'll keep you guys up to date on any other details.

Be sure to let everyone know if you need help getting your rig ready. Maybe we can all get together one weekend and get any last minute projects finished up.

I have the gears I want to install, but I dunno if we want to try and tackle it before the ride.

I went ahead and ordered a spartan locker for the rear and master install kits for the front and rear.  for now I'll run locked rear, open front.  I went with the rear because the spartan reuses the side gears and I will not have to order another locker if/when I upgrade to 31 spine axles, just have to get a new carrier.

Is this the ride you told me not to drive my bronco on so I wouldn't f it up? How far away is the drive?

you should be able to drive it all over the dunes without risk of injury, so long as your brother didn't setup your gears.  You would want to hop in someone else's rig when we go to the woods.

Drive is about an hour to 1.5 hours.

This an easy ride and many very nice rigs have made it through with no damage at all. If you damage it it will be your fault. One of our buddy's took his very nice full size bronco and he didn't get a single scratch. You will be fine, just be careful. Personally I wouldn't even own a bronco I was afraid to drive it in the woods. ;)

We need to try to contact all of the members who don't watch the forum regularly. Anyone who talks to other members be sure to mention the trail ride.

Sounds like fun. Albany isn't far and I should have most Issues (serious) addressed by then.
Is this an 1 day 2 dayEvent?

I don't have mine in yet.  I wouldn't think chatter would be symptomatic of the locker, more likely the clutch, torque converter, or transmission.  If it is tight, then it could remain locked in a slow turn causing the inner wheel to hop/screech a little, which may seem like chatter.
