Full Hardtop off of 1974 EB - free to good home
« on: August 16, 2014, 05:35:25 PM »
Just swapped out full hardtop on my 74 EB.  Old one is free to a good home.  Glass is good.  Rusted in the typical places; needs repairs.   Hinges rusted; will need to be replaced along with repair to the top where hinges bolt.  Parts, including crown, can be bought.  I found one in better shape.  So, I chose to simply swap out.  If no one wants this one I can salvage.  But, I thought somebody might be interested in a "free one" as a foundation for R&R.

Email (dertdobber@gmail.com) or post a message if interested.

I may be able to store this if there are no immediate takers.  I'd rather save it than scrap it.

Thanks Parker.  I've got it under my pole barn, so it's not in my way right now.  But, I will want to get it moved out of here eventually.

Like you, I'd like to see somebody get it and return it to service.  As you probably know, you can buy new drip ledge, the hinges and and the frame.  So, it can be rebuilt or repaired.

I found my "new" top in North Carolina and picked it up when I went to get a replacement chassis/frame.  So, it was economically most practical to get the new top.  Otherwise, I would have rebuilt the old one myself.  Even the new one will need some minor repair when I do the body work. I had to cannibalize the window trim and lift gate latches from the old one.

Hope we can find someone that can use the old one. So, help get the word out!

I too have a full top with good glass and no chance of repair that is feee.  Works well for a trail top, but I've decided I'm not spry enough to install/remove it anymore.
