Cooling upgrades
« on: September 10, 2012, 06:45:47 PM »
I installed a 7 blade Flex-a-Lite fan and a 5 3/8" water pump pulley from a 65 mustang. Should help with low speed/rpm cooling. I'll let you guys know if it helps. ;)

So far so good. It wasn't real hot yesterday but it ran about 20 degrees cooler than normal in traffic with the A/C on.

It's been a few weeks and so far so good. I have consistently seen about 20 degrees lower temps. About 180 max with the A/C running. Normally it would have been 200 with the A/C. I have a feeling the smaller pulley is what did the trick because the fan doesn't seem much different than the stock 7 blade flex it had from the factory.

If anyone is interested in finding this same pulley it came from a 65 Mustang 289 with A/C and it's a double groove that's 5 3/8" in diameter.
