Title: GAS GUAGE REPAIRED
Post by: BroncoBlair on July 27, 2012, 08:21:05 AM
I removed my new from JBG sending unit and noticed the float was full of fuel. i found a small crack in brass from the float being popped onto arm from the factory. I removed the float and soldered up the crack. putting the float back on it cracked in another spot. so back to solder that one up. I finally got float on and tested for leaks. after several attempts to adjust the float level correctly i finally have a working gas guage.

The quality of some of the replacement parts out there aren't worth a crap. The first one I put in mine when I did my frame off did the same thing. It had a plastic float with a crack. I ended up buying another $65 sender and so far so good. The originals were made much better for sure.
