Title: infrared thermometer
Post by: JustaFordGuy on July 27, 2012, 08:55:19 AM
I picked up a new tool at HF yesterday. It's an infrared thermometer. They had it on sale for $20. It has a laser pointer for aiming and will read up to almost 500 degrees F. I hope to use it to straighten out some cooling issues on the Bronco. I have no idea how this thing works but it's kinda cool. 8)

after a long drive I use mine to check each wheel hub, easy way to see if a wheel bearing is going. also on the FJ to check trans level, you must warm it to EXACTLY 170 degrees before pulling the fill plug.
