Rear window help

(1/2) > >>

oakback:
In my '88, the rear window will scoot down an inch or two, and stop. Both with the key, and with the dash switch. So I'm guessing all the electrical connections are good. Does this mean the motor is what's bad?

I've looked up some info online, but all I can find is how to repair the electrical connections, or how to overhaul the entire thing. I'm wondering if there's a simpler fix, as opposed to taking the whole thing apart and replacing most of it. I've opened the panel and hosed down the metal bits with PB Blaster, still the same result.

Any help is appreciated!

Do you still hear the motor running when it stops going down?

oakback:
nope

JustaFordGuy:
It must be bound up and overloading the motor. I think that circuit has a circuit breaker so it resets by it self when you let off the switch. You better take it apart. :(

oakback:
Fixed! I replaced the motor torque pins.
