That's lookin good. What size lift/tire are you thinking?
-
35's, not sure on lift, i know guys with 35's on stock, 2", 4" and 6" so....
-
I think 4" inch lift with 35's is a minimum for anything but street use. I had to trim the front bumper on mine to fit 33" s with no lift.

I liked mine that had 37" tires but it also had a solid axle conversion

nice!
here is my last build

It won Full Size of the month on FSB and a feature story in Bronco Driver and free subscription.

Those look great, where did you get them? My son needs those on his 94.
-
Headlight Depot in Ft Lauderdale. they came with new bulbs installed altough i did not read that on the website. Like $85 for the pair

Blair that looks great. tell me about your SAS. i belong to FSB for years and have read the SAS's until my eyes were red. i have 79 RA brackets, arms, springs. do not have axle or coil buckets.
IF was to SAS do i use the stock RA's and brackects? for say a 4" over stock lift?
thanks
-
unfortunately i bought it already done. but from what i could tell they used a bolt on drop bracket for radius arms like the ones you get with a lift kit on 79 f150 4X4 and welded them to the frame. I believe the axle was also a 79 Dana 44 disc brake front end. the only other fabricated part appeared to be track arm bracket. all of the original independent brackets were removed and frame was cleaned up and painted. Justafordguy may remember something else but i am not sure.

got some new rubber and wheels last night. also parts came in for lift and shocks. will post pics when i actuall do something!
just got back from Minn last night as well.
-
got plans for the old tires and wheels? What size are the tires?
-
FYR 4 - 35" mounted tires and 5 boxes of suspention part do fit inside a full size BKO :D
-
I bet that was a tight fit. I couldn't fit one 35" tire in the back of my Bronco. :-\
-
surprisingly no
-
most of rear lift done, need to change out brake line and flush complete brake system, looks like OEM fluid...yuk

That looks great. Cant wait to see it in person. Lift and Tires make it look totally different.
-
Looks awesome, great job.
-
got it going for first time since starting mods, ran pretty good and straight. also solid feeling compared to worn out suspension.

what are going to do with the original ford wheels that were on it ?
-
stick them back on when i sell it. if not someone else already asked about buying them. they dont look so good in person BTW. chipped clear coat etc. if somene was to media blast them and poslish them they would look 100%
Just like the Bronco, yes it looks good in pics, but in person lots of little dents and one big one where some dummy backed the tire carrer while it was swung open into a wall and dented the qtr panel. i just sanded the area and painted it to match. i tried a porta power wedge in there to push out the dent but that renforcing plate wasnt moving, started to dent the inside qtr panel into the interior.
if it bothers me long term, ill cut the whole corner off and either hammer it out and reweld or get a replacement qtr and plate.
-
since last post:
new serp belt tensioner and pulley, new idler pulley, 02 sensor, glass pack and new pipe, new replacement step pad, drivers seat reupholstered and foam rebuilt, new tail gate cables (one snapped on me), new OEM tire rack latch, new brake hoses all around, one new caliper (due to stuck bleeder), brake system flush and refill with synthetic fluid (was black and dirty as hell). hand waxed whole truck.
next up, replace all vacuum lines, coolant flush, trans service.
-
Dang you're making great progress.
-
yea I was bored, oh and forgot replaced rear axle gear oil with Royal Purple, rebuilt double carden u joint with Spicer parts.
-
had a exhaust leak, tough to find. it was the pass side exhaust manifold gasket. as you Ford guys may know these 351's did not come with gaskets from factory. they just used bearing grease and when started it hardens nice from the heat.
however since mine came with a ATK rebuilt motor I guess they added them :o
while under hood did plugs, wires, cap, rotor, also new fuel filter etc.
she runs well, and no more smelly inside from exhaust! took old window tint off tailgate window, sucky job as it was old and cheap. hours of razor blades and blisters. but now looks like new window. going to paint / body next. post up your pics of you favorite colors to help me choose.
-
I had the same leak not long ago on our 94 F150. I hope the bolts didn't break on yours like ours did :'(. That sure was a PITA.
I kinda like your current color but I also think red and black would look awesome. ;)
-
nope no broken bolts. yes the green/ tan eddie B colors are ok, BUT you cant see in pic how faded the hood and roof are. plus still has big dent where PO banged tire gate into something and crunched corner.
Black would be good
Lime green
Orange
White
Red/ white
very light green or blue is cool too
as is Sand color like desert storm background.
any of the 78-80's bronco factory two tone looks
etc
