Front Camber
« on: August 06, 2013, 03:33:10 PM »
I am confused...big surprise there ::).  What should the front camber be?  My current reading is -.2 * on the left and -.8* on the right.  I have the disc conversion on order and inbound.  If my camber is bad do I wait until done with the conversion to address or try and do it during?  I don't know if the conversion will affect it one way or the other. I read in some places that some negative is good, but the print out said it was way out of spec, but I don't think the specs are for a Dana 44.

I will be replacing tires once the conversion is done and can get alignment checked again then if needed.

Here are the specs that I got from CB.COM. These are real world numbers, that make them drive better than the stock specs.

Caster... 4deg positive (manual steering) or 6deg positive (power steering) (The more the better)

Camber... 0-1deg Positive (the closer to 0, the better the tire wear)

Toe In... 1/8"-1/4"

Tire pressure around 25psi-35psi

If you need to adjust the camber you may as well do it while you have the brakes apart. Two methods for adjustment, spindle shims or upper ball joint offset sleeves.

Thanks Gary.  Going to have to get an updated set of numbers.  The ones I have were taken before I fixed the rear spring issue. Shop said they may very well be off now that everything in the suspension is correct.  Will take it up Saturday first thing to get updated numbers and will then need advice how to proceed.
